Just to add to the discussion, I like the layout of the members page. This will give people an idea of what the person is good at (maybe just to be fun, add a role that you don't like so much). As far as the pictures go, really anywhere would work. It would need to be talked about obviously, but we could take pictures at the old FC house (owned by my mules). Also, there is a minion you can obtain in the Isle of Umbra that will brighten up the environment if that is something that is lacking.

Otherwise, as a group, we should and probably will start encouraging members to start using the Guildwork page and get them active (hopefully adding to the
creativity of the page).

As far as the logo goes, I personally like how it is. I am by no means artistically inclined, but a suggestion would be (as I think bliss mentioned?) is to add some angel wings.Xmishma

Members Pictures
An house like that would be a good ideal, I believe we would have some control on the light there.

About the logo and website activities
I do not remember anything mentioned about adding wings the logo but that might be something I missed in the mist of everything else, however I'll be postponing my work on the logo for the time being. For now my motivation to work on the logo is far behind me and I believe a more pressing matter is to start building a website that members will actually start to use and have a reason to use.

Member Pictures
Yes, some of our members do have personal homes which i'm sure we could use to take pictures in the same light.

Website
I know that for me, I am huge on using these type of websites. Even more so when it is our own. I believe that we should try harder at promoting our website to FC members. I would really like us to be all signed up and use this website for forums posts, QA and event tracking(calendar).

Logo/Font
As previously stated, for the font, personally, I think would look good with the simple cursive that I have mentioned in a previous post. It is very fitting to Wing of the Goddess and flows very well.

Welcome Message
I remember you mentioning a little while ago that we should update our "welcome message" and I agree. We should come up with a little something, even if it is simple.

Luna, I want you to know I still have a large interest in this. With Heavensward out and being back at work my time has been cut short and my focus scattered. I've given you free range on whatever you would like to do. I understand that it is frustrating with members energies focused in all sorts of directions and not receiving feedback from your hard work. Please know that I've thought of you and this webpage often, but when my feet are worn and my mind is tired at the end of a long day I can't give this my full attention– which is what it deserves, my full attention.

With that, let me get right into it. Ill try to give feedback as much as I can, if I miss something that you wished feedback for please ask directly.

The Logo Font.
I was unaware of how tricky hunting for the right font would be. I've spent a good portion of the morning going from one URL to another searching "Free typography" You find one that you enjoy and then you struggle to download it to try it out for twenty minutes thereafter.
Perhaps something simple, non-animated or low-animation (eg fade in) would work I've gone back and looked at the typography Square Enix uses in their title from the same expansion where we take our name from, but it still feels chunky in ascetics. Something bold, sharp and simple. I don't have positive feelings towards adding a wing-like design to the font because that over complicates I feel. Ill think on this further, but I don't think I will be much help..

TeamSpeak Web Applet.
On deeper thought on this I've come to the same conclusion I had prior but I did not voice it. I simply do not like it. This is my reasons.
First, it can be used by others to view whom is in a lobby without actually joining, I find members should feel like they are always welcome to pop in, I don't like the thought of people checking who is online first before jumping in.
Second and lastly, security. I don't like the thought of a web app linking server information somewhat publicly, I am a security freak, I may not have the information that backs this feeling but that does not lessen the feeling itself.

Member Pag.e
I actually have a few fun ideas, but I don't know if they clash with the theme you are trying to create Luna.
- "Mario Kart character select screen"
A simple headshot of each member, when you hover over their picture it will pop a fixed 'info' box that in Mario Kart would show the vehicles stats, but instead here, a bio box of some silly information, height, weight, whatever have you.

- "Standing together, fighting for Hydaelyn"
A picture mashed together of members in the thick of battle, gathered from battle screenshots showing determination and vigor, could have it split up in a way so when a mouse rolls over it, the picture 'burns' or 'lights up'

With each, perhaps when a members picture is clicked, it can bring them to a home page displaying a few of their finer screenshots? (maybe too much work to have for everyone, would be a long project, but perhaps a nice finish?)

Welcome Text.
This should be something that is discussed with the whole group, but I personally feel it should be short, sweet and simple.

Front Page Layout.
I think that non-members should be 'walled out' of seeing anything but the main page, this would encourage members to use Guildworks and the site, while keeping others out of seeing our activity.

YouTube Channel.
Again I feel the viability of content that is broadcast out of a webpage should be restricted to our members only if possible. I have no real interest in creating viewing content for anyone else then our members. this is where I will remind one of the key foundations to this whole idea that I held dear, but I could let go if others wanted something else. I am tying to have this webpage be where we keep our memories, so in years to come, we can look back and stay in touch.

Loot tracker.
With a fresh expansion, we don't even know what loot to get yet, but I think it would feel really rewarding seeing peoples drops feed in… again I lack the understanding to give more feedback.

A reminder…
Please remember to enjoy the expansion, we should be working towards reaching level 60 so we may start doing like new extreme primal fights together, getting geared up, etc. Be sure to take lots of screenshots and videos if possible! The more the better!… I know I have some 25,000 screenshots to look through..

It is not really a matter of losing interest for me and it is quite normal to not have the energy to give to this after a day of work and other responsibilities gets in the way, I feel the same when I get back from work. So far I've been trying to divide my self-learning, website working/forum and gaming so I can give time to each almost every day, however as I saw pretty much nothing stir in the past weeks I started to think the time I'm putting on the website could be put somewhere else. We must also remember that only reason why we are able to edit the website is because we payed for a month of subscription and that all these changes can revert after that period.

Team Speak Web Applet.
It think we all agree to not have the Team Speak Lobby on the website, which is why I removed it in the current layout.

Member Page
Mario Kart character select screen would only be possible in JavaScript but since I'd have to do all the script in html I don't know if that would work really well. It would make for a long and haphazardly code structure that's for sure and will require a good amount of time and work.

"Standing together, fighting for Hydaelyn" Sorry but I fail to picture it. I don't really understand if your ideal is suppose to be a collage of all of us or a picture we take together or something like that.

"Home page displaying a few of their finer screenshots" would only be possible to make a link to an album on our website, so everyone could have an album to themselves just like Bliss made which is a good ideal.

Welcome Message
I think this should take priority in the same order as getting the website more useful and being use.

Member Pictures
At this point I believe we just have to decide where it will be and work on a picture spot.

Front Page Layout.
The control we have on content is for some things to only be visible to users. For example, when in a album when clicking "Edit album", there is an option to make privacy user only.

YouTube Channel.
That's something I haven't look up yet, but I'm pretty sure there is a privacy setting on YouTube, or I sure hope so.

Loot tracker.
I think it would be a good ideal to start testing with the raid tracker a soon as possible to get a good ideal of how it works and not wait for when we are at the point where everyone is ready to do raids and such.We will avoid wasting time as it is already hard enough to get people at the same time to do something.

The Logo Font.
People often do not see the works that needs to be put into a logo. They often look simple in the result, but are so not in the making. Of course I'm not a professional graphical designer and I did not put that much effort into the process of thinking and designing this one and I'm not trying to justify the work I have done so far. My point is that there are so many ways to change a logo that at some point it can become quite overwhelming and choosing a typography is a good example of that. Finding a good one that will fit the whole design (which is in the end subject to opinions) that is free to use for personal/commercial if possible takes a lot of time a patience and I will admit I'm starting to get burn by this process. So for now I need to take a break from working on the logo.

I don't know if it's been suggested or not but I forget to check the site a lot and so it might be cool to be able to subscribed to different forum posts or get alerts on what's been updated on the website.

There is a subscribe button to each forum threads at the top of the page if you are interested in one in particular. I think this is the only option there is to have updates on posts but I'm am unsure if it will send the subscriber an email or something of that nature so it will be to be tested.

The future direction of the website

Bare with me because this is going to be a long post.So has some of you have noticed I've been working on the overall design of the webpage in the last month. I will admit I am pretty proud of my work and I'm happy to provide a nice looking website for a awesome community. However in order do be able to do so, there is literally a price to pay. As some of you might not know, the power to edit the website comes with a prices of about 9$ a months which Dark as been kind enough to take under his wing and because of that I've been exploring solutions that would not require paying to have a website for our Free company. There is no perfect solution to this situation but here is what I have in mind.

As many of you might already know I work in the web/media field, and as such I have a portfolio : My portfolio(just to brag a little =P)
that is hosted on a server a pay around 85$ a year. This is an expense I already have to cover for my website and as such I could host our homepage for the Free company.

There are however drawbacks to not using Guildwork as our main website:

1- We will lose dynamic content widgets on the home pages like Recent loot, who's online and so forth. The home be able to lead to forum/albums and such on guildworks as different pages.

2-The home page will have to be update manually (but to be frank its pretty been that way here too)

3-Is it possible that one day I change field of work/interest or change server so our website might get offline in the future (the same is true for Guildwork)

4- Guildswork would return to his grayish pages, I could link the guildworks pages like the album and such to the homepage still, but they would revert to the old style.

There are also some advantages :

1-If for some reason Guildwork goes down, we own all the code from the homepage and every other section that are not related to Guildwork and can be hosted somewhere else.

2-We will have full control over the layout of the homepage.

3-We can find other websites that could answer are need better (for exemple finding a website for uploading picture that doesn't make the quality horrible like Guildwork those.)

The limit of my abilities

As much as I'd like to build you guys an awesome website with fully user interactivity where you can upload stuff like it does on Guildwork, it is out of my range of knowledge and I sadly don't have enough time (and even if I did I'm not sure I would be able to make it) to create something like that. My experience limits itself to web design and core programming using HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

Feedback Needed

I believe this question concerns everyone and everyone should have a say into this. I know the importance of the website might be different for each of us, but this is also something that we will need to establish at this point and I need feedback on this subject to be able to go forward with this project.

So here are a two things that comes to mind and you should feel free to ask/add your own questions/interrogations if you have something to mind that wasn't included in the post.

1- Is the using of the website worth the trouble? Don't get me wrong I do not mind putting the work that is needed into this project. What I want to know is each of you as individual, do you feel like your presence on the website's been frequent enough to be worth such a project.

2- Are we actually going to use an homepage that will loose some of Guildwork dynamic features? We will be able to link the pages of Guildworks to the new website, however these pages will go back to the gray design.

My feelings about all this

I just want to make it clear that I'm not tired of burned to be working on the website as this post might inspire some to think. But also don't want to be putting a ton of work on something that will barely be useful to anyone. I know Bliss and Dark have been the most existed about this website and I do share these feelings as well. Remember that this website is to share memories of our community as we might drift from one another in the future. As life goes it's impossible to know what tomorrow will be made of, and as such impossible to know if our website will always be present to remind us of who we were at this point in time. But as much as there is importance in foreseeing what is to come, I believe there is also importance in taking things as they happen and take actions towards a personal/common goal no matter what the outcome may be. And it is in the mindset that I'd like the opinion of each of you =)

That covers pretty much everything I've got on my mind. There might be a couple of horribly written sentences/typos in there and I'm sorry for that but it's 3am and a second read is all I'm giving this post because I'm tired and want to get to bed. x)
